Acoustic ceilings

Acoustics plays an important role in interior design. Why? In fact, good acoustics is an integral part of the interior because it ensures the required degree of privacy, clarity of speech, high sound quality and it also affects the feelings of the users positively. The sound pressure level indicates how noisy the room is.

Two main factors are crucial when considering the acoustic features of the interior, namely sound absorption – how the sound in the room behaves, reflects, breaks, absorbs, the reverberation time and sound insulation (air sound insulation)- i. how much sound penetrates from one room to another.

Types of acoustic ceilings:

Monolithic acoustic ceilings

Acoustic monolithic ceilings are characterized by a smooth surface that is not disturbed by any visible joints or construction. The surface is formed either by a fine plaster structure or by a smooth trowel.

Perforated (design) acoustic ceilings

Perforated ceilings bring an interesting and distinctive design element to the interior in the form of different types of perforations, holes that can be of different sizes and locations. Such a ceiling addition, like a monolithic ceiling, is not disturbed by any visible joints, construction or grooves, thus acting in a uniform manner.

Spatial and free-hanging absorbers

Spatial and free-hanging absorbers are a suitable solution for interior ceilings where it is not possible to place a full ceiling (either cassette or plasterboard) or, in the case of other modern spaces, when we want to preserve the original ceiling or to emphasize the industrial character of the ceiling (Architectural concrete) and thereby achieve both easy access to the installations and also to ensure maximum acoustic comfort in the room. They are characterized by simple installation and unconventional interior design.

Acoustic cassette ceilings

Cassette lower ceilings, as well as monolithic, can be divided into sound absorbing and soundproof. Unlike monolithic ceilings, there is always mounting on a structure that is more or less visible.
